What is metabolic balance?

The foundation of the program is metabolic balance's unique capability to develop a truly personalized all natural nutrition plan based upon an in-depth analysis of your unique blood values, medical history, symptomatology and preferences. Your personalized plan acts as your “road-map”, indicating exactly which natural foods you should eat in order to orchestrate the biochemical changes needed for reaching your desirable weight and health goals. The program is based off of whole foods, natural foods and is backed by 30 years of research and science by nutritional scientists.

Your personalized all-natural nutrition plan balances your personal "body chemistry" with the right "food chemistry". The research goes to the root cause of how and why a person stores and releases energy and fat. It's base assumption is that your body is capable of producing (on its own) the hormones and enzymes that are needed to function. In order to function, a body requires "building material" in the form of proteins, carbohydrates and nutrients that are obtained from the foods you eat. Your plan concentrates on the exact foods that posses the essential, vital nutrients your body most needs. Based on this in-depth scientific and innovative understanding, metabolic balance develops your personalized nutrition plan to naturally balance your hormones, enzymes and your bio-chemistry.

Metabolic Balance is one of best all-encompassing nutrition programs where we take everything into account from blood work, lifestyle, stress, hormones, exercise, body fat, weight, measurements, history and preferences. This also allows us to work with more closely the special populations such as gut health imbalances, IBS, Crohn’s, fertility, metabolism Imbalances, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, gout, kidney stones, thyroid conditions, Cholesterol, lipid imbalances, hormonal imbalances, obesity, high end athletes with restrictive eating, arthritis and allergies are just a few conditions the program can be tailored for.

Angela Mason

My journey began 2 years ago just before my 46th birthday. I was tired of living a sedentary lifestyle with debilitating back pain, regular occurrences of abdominal pain and bloating, and female health issues. It was clear that my body was struggling and I needed help. So, I signed up for Metabolic Balance® and personal training sessions with Jennifer Neil as my coach.

Since starting Metabolic Balance®, I went from 41% to 16% body fat (50lbs of fat loss) and, through personal training sessions with Jenna and strength and cardiovascular sessions on my own, I am stronger and more capable then ever, gaining 15lbs of muscle and improving my VO2 max. My mind-body connection has also greatly improved where the physical changes match my mental and emotional reflection in the mirror. I have gained confidence in and out of the gym as I strive to be the best version of myself physically, mentally, and emotionally everyday.

Going back to the way things were before isn’t an option. Instead, I have set myself up for success by sticking to the program as I move into this next chapter of my life gracefully, looking and feeling my best.

I am two years into this transformational journey and I fully embrace this lifestyle for the long term. Sticking to the Principles of Metabolic Balance® is the only way forward. When you know what good feels like, why mess with a good thing.

Jennifer has played a colossal role in my success with Metabolic Balance® and, overall, in my health and fitness journey. I would not be where I am today without her knowledge, guidance and support. She taught me how to move and fuel my body, set goals and be accountable, believe in myself, and get out of my own way. She has given me the best tools. I couldn’t imagine my life without her in it. Her wholistic approach to health, fitness, and wellness has truly changed my life.

Prioritizing self-care is critical for maintaining a healthy mind and body and is an essential component of a balanced lifestyle. Success in the Metabolic Balance® Program comes down to one thing and that’s putting yourself first.

The one-on-one coaching, personalized nutrition plans, and new skills learned in the Metabolic Balance® Program help individuals focus on their unique needs and break free from destructive habits for good. This is when the real changes happen, and it happens so fast. Then it’s like a tidal wave of positive changes that expand into all areas of life.

My advice to anyone starting their transformation journey is to a) set clear and realistic goals, b) show up, be consistent, and find your rhythm, and c) trust the process and the results will follow.

Camille Naqvi

I’m a 36-year-old mom of 3. I started seeing Jenna for personal training in August 2023, 2.5 years postpartum. I had diastasis recti that kept me from running and limited the types of exercise that I wanted to do. I had tried physio and multiple postpartum exercise programs, but the injury wasn’t improving, and I wasn’t satisfied with the limits being put my physical activity. I was feeling more exhausted and discouraged than ever, and I was not feeling like myself in my own body. After about a month of discussion and learning about metabolic balance during my personal training sessions, I decided to ask Jenna guide me through the program.

Prior to starting the program, I felt uncomfortable in my own skin, discouraged and defeated due to a lack of progress.

The biggest changes are that I feel stronger, more like myself, energetic, motivated. I’ve now learned how to properly fuel my body and enjoy life at the same time. Jenna helped me stay accountable and stick to the program with multiple check ins daily and constant support.

Jenna is an excellent coach and support system. She is completely dedicated and goes above and beyond for her people. The training and motivation she has given me has been truly life changing. I cannot express enough the gratitude I have for her support since we started working together.

I would recommend Metabolic Balance to someone who has a healthy relationship with food, who is not at risk of disordered eating, has spoken to their doctor, and is under the supervision of a dedicated and qualified professional like Jenna.

Jenna creates a supportive and motivational communication for her personal training clients. Prior to starting personal training, I wasn’t satisfied with the limits being put my physical activity. I really missed running and feeling strong. Within 7 months after I started seeing Jenna, and the injury is healed, I am back to running and I can do any exercise I want, with no limitations. I feel stronger and more fit than ever. I’ve lost 20 lbs so far.

My advice to people who are starting their transformation is, If it is within your means, find a community who will make you feel empowered and motivate you. Set realistic goals and be open to adjusting them. Acknowledge your wins along the way.

I was originally diagnosed with Crohn’s disease more than 30 years ago. Crohn's disease is a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It causes swelling of the tissues (inflammation) in the digestive tract, which can lead to abdominal pain, severe diarrhea, fatigue, weight loss and malnutrition. Inflammation caused by Crohn's disease can involve different areas of the digestive tract in different people, most commonly the small intestine. This inflammation often spreads into the deeper layers of the bowel. Crohn's disease can be both painful and debilitating, and sometimes may lead to life-threatening complications.

When I was introduced to Metabolic Balance, I thought a program that focuses on inflammation, that sounds like something I can get behind! Following the program was easy. Even stopping drinking coffee was not too bad – but I was incredibly happy when I was able to add it back into my diet. I noticed a change within a brief period. The symptoms that I had dealt with over the years became less and less noticeable. Then it seemed to disappear. A side benefit was that I lost close to 25 pounds and my body fat was at 13.9%. However, the most remarkable thing was how good I felt.

Carmen Nicholls

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis when I was two years old. For several years now my body was a walking weather forecast with extreme pain in the hands and legs whenever a storm was brewing.

Since embarking on Metabolic Balance I have seen a significant decrease in my episodes with only minor pain now. The program enabled me to eliminate the inflamatory properties in my body which has made me feel so much better, increased my energy and gave me the ability to increase muscle mass.

I have increased my flexibility as well and believe it has contributed to a more comfortable life while living with RA. Metabolic Balance is life altering in a positive way. I encourage everyone to give it a try, you won't regret it!

Thank-you Jenna and Metabolic Balance.

Douglas Lagos

My name is Douglas Lagos. I am 49 years old. I born and rise in Venezuela and came to Canada in 2011. I am a husband and Dad of two kids, Angel-Manuela (6 years old) and Maria-Daniela (19 years old). I have been a sport man lover since a young  but with lack of knowledge in  nutrition. I was swimmer and in love of bodybuilding for about 30 years.

In 2022, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (Mantle cell lymphoma) after experiencing frequent back pain, flu-like symptoms, and swelling of my neck lymph nodes. After undergoing several medical studies and tests, I began a challenging battle with cancer that lasted over a year. Thankfully, I was declared in remission. Following my recovery, my oncologist advised me to focus on healthy eating, exercise, and mental well-being. In search of assistance, my wife discovered Jennifer Neil, who offered a program called Metabolic Balance to support us in maintaining a healthy diet. During our initial meeting, Jennifer explained the benefits of the program and proposed her services as a coach, covering not only healthy eating but also exercise and psychological support. Without hesitation, my wife and I accepted her help.

Thanks to Jennifer's incredible support, I managed to lose over 15 kilograms in less than four months, regained my energy, boosted my self-esteem, and significantly reduced my anxiety and depression after cancer.

Jennifer support has been essential to be stick in the program. Her encouragement always to keep going and motivating me.Honestly, without Jennifer’s support I can say it is not easy to continue as this program requires a lot of discipline, compromise, and resilience. Jennifer constantly is supporting me and giving me the push I need to keep moving.

I would definitely recommend the Metabolic Balance program Because it is essential, everybody knows how to eat properly selecting proper quantities, what

to cook, how select the proper ingredients, water in-take, eat time, the importance to eat an apple a day (to keep the doctor away). I learned for Jennifer all illness and problems start in our guts and we are what we are eating.

I am a personal training client. My success was to move down my body fat from -24.7 lbs to -9.3 lbs (percentage of body fat

from 24.5% to 16%).

Today, I am a completely different person with high energy levels and a newfound love for physical challenges. I have adopted sustainable eating habits and integrated regular exercise into my daily life. I am immensely grateful to Jennifer and consider her to be one of the angels who helped me

overcome this challenging phase of my life (Cancer) and regain my belief in myself. Thank you, Jennifer, and May God bless you.

To those who feel stuck in their fitness journey, I would say to open your mind to be conscious of your nutrition. Stay motivated to exercise every day. You will feel awesome increasing the energy levels, better mood, and more.

Fatima Castellanos

I am very energetic and a great communicator. I have been working in the Oil & Gas Industry for over 35 years. I am passionate about my work and I know how to get the job done. This translates into my personal life as well. I have been a healthy and sporty person all my life. Unfortunately, last year, I found out I have a brain tumor, this brought me anxiety and lack of sleep wondering about my future. I started gaining weight and stopped doing my regular exercises. Then I decided to take action.

Before joining the program, I felt very anxious and worried.

I was eating uncontrollably, not getting enough sleep and I had no energy. The weight continued to stack on.  Joining the Metabolic Balance Program has really changed my life for the better.  I have so much energy now and I find my eating habits have got better. Everything has been improved, skin, sleep, energy. I’m so pleased with the results.

I am so grateful I was introduced to Jennifer.  She is friendly, helpful, professional and very knowledgeable. Without her guidance, support, and very helpful tips, it would not have been as easy to achieve my goals. My health gets better and better all the time, thanks to Jenna. She kicks my butt and I love it.

I am really enjoining the plan. I feel my journey on this plan was very beneficial and my health is much improved. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to improve their health. I feel comfortable with the food I have and do not feel restricted. This program has changed my life! This program provided a roadmap to achieve my goals.

I was not really a gym person. However, looking back on all my improvements I decided to join the gym for exercise and fitness. In addition, returning to run 5K outdoors on the weekends. It has been a winning from the combination of both Metabolic Balance Program and workout. My health gets better and better.

I would recommend anyone who asks me about how to start their path to fitness that this is not just a weight loss program. This is a health improvement program to feel and look your best. You will learn how to manage your wellness and your weight into the future, beyond the program. And to never give up believing there is a solution out there.

Joe Sobochan

I have struggled with being overweight my entire life, throughout my childhood and into my teenage years I was always the heaviest kid. In school classmates were cruel with verbal and at times physical abuse, but after school, comfort came from eating junk food that was always present in the house.

Predictably, food became a coping mechanism that kept me overweight, and by 2018 I weighed 255 pounds. I joined a gym and made a half-hearted attempt to lose weight and become fit. By February/22, I was down to 217 pounds, but still had a poor level of fitness. I decided it was time to get serious and quit telling myself “One day” or “tomorrow” I will get healthy.

I made the same mistake so many others do, I “researched” exercise and nutrition the worst possible way, YouTube. By counting calories and spending 2-3 hours every day in the gym, I did manage to lose 57 pounds by Christmas, and by February/23 I was 154 pounds.

In March of 2023, I met Jennifer (Jenna) Neil, and this is where I realized the importance of working with a knowledgeable fitness and nutrition professional, Jenna’s area of expertise. She is also a great motivator and is an unparalleled community builder. Joining a group of like-minded people has been life enhancing. It is wonderful to see friendly and encouraging faces at the gym and new friendships have started for me.

Through these new friends, I heard about Metabolic Balance, something I wish I had known much earlier in my adventure; the program would have made my journey so much easier! Proper nutrition is key and is easier than you think. I see so many of the gym community use Metabolic Balance to absolutely change their lives. The way they feel with proper fuel and nutrients for their bodies, provides the foundation and motivation to attain the physical, and with that, mental changes to become happier, healthier, and live more fulfilling lives. The past year I have witnessed so many truly transformational changes, it is inspiring and heart warming to see. Those that use MB learn that it is not about counting calories, its about giving your body what it needs to function optimally.

As a personal training client of Jenna, I have realized the importance of connecting with a trainer that understands my needs, and motivates me on those days when I do not have my best to give.

Jenna identifies and focuses on areas I need to improve on whether its muscle imbalance, flexibility, or mobility issues. She is one of the kindest and most caring individuals I have ever met, and the support and encouragement she provides is an invaluable addition to the training.

Everyone’s journey is unique to them, and if someone asks me how I achieved my transformation, what I always share is this:

Do not underestimate the importance of finding the proper trainer/nutritionist, it will save you time, and take less effort to get to your end goal. Plateau’s will happen, keep at it, you will break through them. Believe in yourself, we are all capable of change.

And whatever you do, don’t tell yourself you will start “one day” or “tomorrow,” because for all of us, one day we will wake, and it will have been our last tomorrow.

Karelis Prieto

I am a professional Engineer who was born and grew up in Venezuela. I am a wife and a mom of two beautiful kids, a girl and a boy. My family is the most important in my life. I love to spend time with them having fun and teaching great values that my husband and I learned from our beloved parents and religion (Christian church).

In 2023, I decided to be healthy for myself and my lovely family after supporting my husband in his battle against cancer. He is a brave person who was blessed and successfully won this battle. Living this experience, I realized that my husband and kids need me to continue enjoying with them every single moment of our lives. Therefore, I joined the Metabolic Balance Program.

At the end of my husband’s battle with cancer, I suffered anxiety eating everything in front of me. In addition, my brother moved to Canada early in 2023 and we started preparing different typical meals that reminded us of Venezuela.

By August 2023, I gained 14 kg of weight and I noticed I could not control my way of eating anymore. A friend recommended to me, my incredible nutritionist, Jennifer Neil. She motivated me to initiate the Metabolic Balance to get back to my healthy point. One of the biggest changes I have seen is feeling healthier physically and psychologically.

Jennifer Neil has been one of my Angels for me and my family. She is very knowledgeable and has provided her expertise to me. She has guided me throughout my journey patiently. I have learned how I can eat healthy during my day-to-day.

I want to highlight that my coach, nutritionist, and friend, Jennifer, believed in me even those days when I did not. She is always looking for the best in me to continue setting up my goals. That keeps me motivated and has developed a great connection and friendship.

I have balanced my metabolism in less than a year and reached my goals for 2024. I believe 100% in this program because I am seeing the results. The way I feel healthy right now is what I would love others to feel. It will improve their quality of life and be healthy for their loved ones.

5- Are you also a personal training client? What successes in your program would you like to share? Yes, I love doing exercises now and I started my nutritional and fitness journey as a fun activity in our family. My husband and kids are following the program to ensure a healthy life. Our perseverance is key.

My tips to those who want to begin their fitness journey or feeling stuck are to decide to start today because your health should be your top priority to continue enjoying with your loved ones for the rest of your life. Once you start your nutritional and fitness journey never stop. Make the journey a habit. Discipline and perseverance should be the top key components for your everyday life, even those days when you feel down. You can also count on Jennifer Neil and the community to support you.

Kristy Mcfadyen

I am a professional in the finance industry, a wife, and a mom to two young children, ages 3 and 6. So to say life is busy, and even chaotic at times, is an understatement. I was an athletic kid growing up, even did competitive figure skating, dabbled with power lifting as a young adult, but had a real hard time sticking with any physical activity once I became a Mom.

After having children, I struggled with losing weight, hormone imbalances and postpartum depression. In reflecting back, I can see how pregnancy was extremely hard for my mind, body, and soul, and how I desperately needed to find my new normal in the chaos.

When I first met Jenna I was just looking for a workout program so I could “get back on track”. I told her I wanted to train with her for 6 weeks just so I could get set up to workout in my home gym. This quickly changed when in the first few weeks of working out with Jenna I discovered that my mood started to shift, and that it wasn’t about the physical movement for my body, rather the psychological effect for my brain. Going to the gym made me happy, and kept away the feelings of anxiety and depression I had been feeling for nearly 5 years. In addition to that, I started to gain my strength back and lose the extra weight I had been carrying around for 5 years. That became my why. It didn’t matter how sore my muscles were, or how tired my body was, I had to continue going to the gym because my mind needed me to. Soon after starting training with Jenna I was introduced to Metabolic Balance.

Before that, I struggled with obesity, mood disorders, menorrhagia, hair loss, and eczema. Within months of doing metabolic balance some of these conditions started to resolve. I adopted a better sleep routine and over time started to feel more energy each day and was no longer reliant on caffeine or sugar for energy. My gut health was also improving. It was during this time I decided that fitness and eating well would become my new non-negotiables. Jennifer has been an amazing coach and has helped me figure out how to stay on the program through weight loss and maintenance in different life situations, such as going to a hockey game with my kids, meeting friends for dinner, attending birthday parties, and even going on a family vacation.

Jennifer has a contagious energy about her that lifts people up and she has created a beautiful community of like-minded people. This is the secret sauce. The energy she creates at the gym is addictive. Simply put it is a fun place to be.

Life is too short to feel unwell. Living with inflammation and other reversible conditions doesn’t have to be our way of life. This program enables you to gain holistic wellness without giving up the things that bring you joy. Yes, the biggest success for me in working with Jennifer was a change in my mindset about what I was trying to achieve from training and eating well.

This is twofold - 1. The focus shifted away from dieting and losing pounds on the scale to eating to fuel my body and losing body fat while building muscle. Being introduced to using body fat percentage as a measurement and goal is super positive, and in actuality a better measurement for overall health AND 2. Focusing on FUN!! Jennifer makes working out fun. Leaning on her background as an elite competitive gymnast she takes every opportunity to throw in unique and fun challenges to the workouts with the goal of just getting strong enough to do them. Getting strong by building muscle has become the name of the game and I love it.

My advice to anyone starting their transformation is that you don’t have to do this alone.  And if you join the community, you will not be alone. You will be surrounded by people with similar stories that will inspire you.

Food science has come a very long way and there is so much great information out there. Metabolic balance cracked the code so that you can achieve so much wellness all the while getting to a healthy body fat percentage. What Jennifer has created is achievable and maintainable. No matter at what age you start, this is about the rest of your life. And you deserve this. And you will not regret putting in the time and effort.

Lynn Exner

As a busy executive, I spent years putting work above everything else, including my health. I always tried to make time for the gym, but it wasn’t until I started working with Jenna that I saw real, measurable results and became genuinely healthy. I had tried countless approaches over the years, but none truly changed my habits or gave me lasting results. When I discovered Metabolic Balance (MB), it appealed to my science-driven mind, so I decided to give it a shot—and I’m so glad I did.

Jenna has also played a huge role in my recovery from ACL surgery. My biggest goal was to stay pain-free and active for as long as possible. Thanks to her expertise, I’ve made incredible progress in my mobility and strength. Now I have the confidence to get back to the activities I love, like hiking, biking, skiing, and snowboarding—things I wasn’t sure I’d ever do again.

Jenna’s knowledge and professionalism made it easy to trust her. I used to think donuts counted as a meal, and I thought my frequent digestive issues were normal. But with her guidance, I actually enjoy cooking healthy meals and packing my own food for work trips. I feel amazing as a result. I’ve also gone from ignoring knee rehab and being terrified to jump, to confidently doing box jumps on a strong, stable knee.

Before MB, my digestive system was a constant mess, and I lived on packaged meals. MB introduced a completely different way of eating—one where I wasn’t hungry and didn’t even crave junk because I was finally getting the nutrients my body needed. My digestion is now stable, and I feel confident choosing and preparing foods that fuel me. The weight loss was a surprising but welcome bonus.

I’ve recommended MB to so many people because it’s been life-changing. It transformed my relationship with food, and it’s a nice bonus when people notice how strong and healthy I look now.

If I could share three things I’ve learned, they would be:

  1. Prioritizing your health doesn’t mean sacrificing other parts of your life—it makes everything better.

  2. Asking for expert help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

  3. Finding a trainer and nutrition plan tailored to you is a game-changer. Jenna’s personalized approach has completely transformed my life.

Mark Jones

I was searching for a transformation because somewhere along the way, I lost myself in the demands of being an executive at an international company. My health had taken a backseat—I struggled with poor gut health, constant exhaustion, excess body fat, and restless nights.

What kept me committed to the program was the noticeable change in every area of my life. I started feeling better in my body, my energy improved, and even my race times got faster when I took up running. Jennifer has been an incredible support system—she keeps me on track and motivated.

This isn’t just a program; it’s a lifestyle shift. It teaches you what your body truly needs to thrive, and that makes all the difference.

If you’re considering a lifestyle change, here are three things I’d say:

1. It’s okay to fall off track—what matters is getting back on. Consistency always wins.

2. You don’t have to pause your life to succeed. I’ve balanced work, personal, and family events without missing a beat because the plan is easy to follow and adaptable.

3. Most importantly, enjoy the journey. Find joy in the process, and lean into the community for support—it makes all the difference.

Merissa Piche

Married, mom of two, Director in the Oil & Gas industry and lover of getting outside to golf. Where do I start?! My whole life I have wanted to be strong and not skinny fat. No one understood because I wasn’t spending my time in the gym as a female to lose weight and to be skinnier; I was there to try to be stronger and make gains.

For 15 years I’ve been hitting the gym with some minimal weight loss but no huge gains in my muscle mass nor actually changing my body composition in general. I had issues with postural pain and imbalances. I was told I was at risk of osteoporosis and bloodwork came back with high cholesterol.

Prior to meeting Jennifer Neil, I turned to a sports nutritional therapist who added fasting to my routine after hearing my goals which included 2-3 day fasts with nothing but water for 24 hrs. at a time. Mom of two, working full time out of the house, personal trainer 3 x per week and fasting…my weeks felt tough because that is a lot to fit in, but I was doing the latter for ME. The devastation I felt after putting a year into this very strict fitness combined with fasting routine and not seeing the change had me in tears when I met Jenna. She took me under her wing and didn’t only show me a different way but a way that I am now eating more than I have ever in my life through Metabolic Balance. What helped me stick to the program was seeing progress immediately, having Jenna support me through messaging, phone calls, picture sending, etc. She was my biggest cheerleader and wanted to see me succeed.

I am so very grateful that I met this angel since she truly cares about her clients. She has the real experience and the enthusiasm for helping her clients reach their goals. Forever grateful for this lady, I am finally on the journey that I want to be on! You don’t feel guilty about taking the time out for YOU when you see the results! She has also connected me to a great community where I now have friends with aligned goals.

Every person’s body is different and Metabolic Balance is tailored to your personal body. Your plan won’t be the same as someone else’s since it’s customized to you through extensive bloodwork and testing. It guarantees you are not just following a “fad” diet, but an actual nutritional program with a meal plan tailored to you. This is not a diet; I am full and energized. This is meal planning for me at its best!

I am also a personal training client. I am seeing muscle gain for the first time in my life and my entire body composition started changing within months. Jenna has also helped me with my posture, flexibility and makes my gym sessions fun and energizing instead of dreadful and defeating.

My advidce to those starting their fitness and Health journey is First, say yes, second, show up, and third, let Jenna guide you through it. That’s the first 3 steps to changing your fitness journey. I read something the other day that stated, “I’d die for my children”. If there is someone in your life you would die for, why wouldn’t you want to live for them! For me this journey is to live and for me this means getting healthy and taking care both mentally and physically.  No one needs you to die for them, they need you to LIVE and that’s what I am doing through Metabolic Balance and the best trainer out there, Jenna! Lucky me and therefor lucky for my family.

Natalia Bills

It’s a privilege to have known Jenna as a friend and personal trainer. She is an expert in her field. Her passion for getting the best out of her clients really comes across in the sessions, not settling for an easy or comfortable, but also pushing for the next best thing.

In just less than 24 months Jenna, not only I lost a total of 68 lbs post pregnancy, drastically increased my strength and confidence, but I also feel much healthier and fitter on a day to day basis.

highly recommend Jenna to anyone, you’ll be surprised how much you can be achieved together with Jenna and under her Metabolic Balance Nutrition and Training Plans.

Robyn Mann

I’m Robyn Mann, 42 years old.  I work full time as an Engineer in Calgary and I have 2 kids (10 and 8) who keep me busy when I’m not at work.  When I turned 38 years old, I gradually started to put on weight in my midsection.  In my 20s and 30s, I was able to hit the gym harder for a few days and I could easily get myself back to my desirable weight.  Once 38 hit, I couldn’t do it anyone.  Over the last 4 years, I slowly put on 23 lbs.  I have irritable bowel syndrome and Digestive Disorders.  I was also starting to have insomnia, where I would wake up in the middle of the night, sometimes for hours on end.  I had a neighbour start the Metabolic Balance Program in February 2024.  She was seeing amazing results with the program. I researched the program and decided that it was something that I could stick with long term.

Before the program, I had a lot of inflammation in my body. I had slowly put on 23 lbs in my late 30s and early 40s. I was feeling tired at the end of the day. I had IBS and digestive disorders. I had insomnia. I was getting irritated by small things that shouldn’t irritate me.

I started the program in May 2024 and I’ve lost 18 lbs and 8% body fat. My inflammation is gone. I haven’t had any issues with IBS. I’m sleeping (mostly) well at night.

I still have a few nights here and there where I’m up in the middle of the night but they are usually due to indulging in a treat meal.  My overall mood is better. I’ve also noticed a significant improvement in my skin – I have a glow. Meal prepping a few days ahead has helped me stick to the program.  I also have a neighbour who is doing the program, and we keep each other accountable. We share recipe ideas and go to the gym together 2-3 times a week.  My coach, Jennifer Neil, also likes to receive daily text messages of my meals from the previous day and a copy of my daily progress report.  Knowing that I have to share this information with her makes me want to stick to the program.  I also feel my best when I’m strictly following the plan, so unless I have a special event, I follow the plan exactly.

I’m so happy that I connected with Jennifer. I was in a rut before meeting her. I was barely getting through the days. I’m feeling better than I have ever felt. I’m so grateful to have found a program that I can stick with long term. Jennifer has been so supportive of me. She knows that she can push me to get even better results than I expected. She sets biweekly goals for me and praises me when I reach them.

This program has been a game changer for me.  I was at a point where each day was getting harder to get through. After the strict conversion phase, each day was getting progressively easier to get through. As each day passes, I feel like I’m reverse aging. My weight has dropped, I’m sleeping better, I don’t have any digestive flair-ups, my skin complexion has improved, and my mood is better.

The Metabolic Balance Program is the best money that I’ve ever spent.

Invest in yourself. Just because you are at middle age, doesn’t mean you can’t be feeling your best.  Reverse the aging process.  Sign up, get that bloodwork done, and get that custom plan that is designed just for you!  Put in the effort and in a few weeks, you will be living a sustainable and balanced lifestyle.

Sunshine Taylor

My weight struggle started in 2005 when I weighed 250 lbs on the day I gave birth to my oldest daughter. Afterward, I was left with 230 lbs to manage. By 2007, I lost 90 lbs using Weight Watchers. From my 30s onward, I’ve stayed active, taught fitness classes, and looked athletic, but I always struggled with calorie counting and maintaining energy while working out. Food has always been a challenge for me.

At the end of 2022, I faced a major setback. I had ACL repair surgery, followed by another injury that required surgery. The stress from these events led to emotional eating, and I gained 15 lbs, reaching 165 lbs. Then, in January 2022, while on the road to recovery, my oldest daughter overdosed on pills. I was devastated, emotionally drained, and at my breaking point. My clothes no longer fit, and I knew I needed help. That’s when I turned to Jennifer Neil and Metabolic Balance. I needed a fresh start, accountability, and a better understanding of food and how it affects my body and mind.

With Jennifer’s support, I lost 35 lbs and learned how to properly fuel my body for workouts and recovery. I adopted a more holistic approach to eating and discovered that simple changes to the quality of nutrients I consumed made me feel more energetic and less hungry. Meal prepping was key at first, but over time, I found a groove that worked for me and my family. Jennifer’s constant reassurance and accountability kept me on track. She made me feel special and taught me to appreciate my body and the hard work it takes to become an elite athlete.

She inspired me to push beyond my limits, participating in the WBFF Transformation category last year and competing in Fitness and Bikini this year — things I never imagined doing.

I recommend Metabolic Balance to everyone because it’s customized based on your blood work, hormones, and unique needs, teaching you to fuel your body with clean, nutrient-dense foods for long-term success. Even my partner joined the program after seeing my transformation.

As a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, I believe trainers need trainers too. Jennifer has guided me through post-surgery rehab, helping me gain flexibility and strength, particularly in my knee, hamstrings, and glutes. I’ve built significant muscle while leaning out. Her expertise in functional movement laid a strong foundation, preventing injury as I grew stronger.

This journey has not only made me a better athlete but also a better trainer for my clients. Jennifer has been instrumental in my success, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything she’s taught me along the way.

Let’s embark on this transformative journey together.
