I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. Recently, I decided to permanently make the move to Canada to live with my girlfriend, and be closer to my family (who have been living here since 2010). I have an international military, policing, and security background.

I am now working in Canada, and going to University to further my education and achieve my career goal of becoming a police officer in Vancouver. I recently started competing as a men’s physique athlete.

Are you a Trainer? If yes, what does it mean to you to train your clients? Yes, I am a trainer. I have found that personal training is about much more than just the workouts. I aim to help my clients reach their goals, inside and outside of the gym. I try to not only be an amazing trainer for my clients, but also an amazing friend.

I AM ALFA because I have a big heart. I am a role model to those around me, I stand strong in the face of adversity, and I choose to be different.

What are the most rewarding things that Fitness has brought you?

Fitness has completely changed my life. Fitness has shown me that with hard work and discipline, you can achieve anything, and I can now apply this to all aspects of my life. Fitness has also introduced me to a community of like-minded people, many of whom have become my close friends.

When was the most alfa moment in your life, and why? The moment I stepped on stage for the first time was a powerful moment for me. After my girlfriend Maxine introduced me to the world of competing, I decided to dedicate my prep and my competition to my brother Alexander Schaub, who passed away in 2010. Every time prep got hard, I reminded myself that this wasn’t just for me but it was also for him. The moment I finally stepped on stage, I could feel him with me.

What’s next for you? I have decided to take a year away from the stage to work on my physique and my career/education. I recently enrolled in University, and I just started a new position working in law enforcement. You will definitely see me back on stage in 2021! Until then, I’ll be working hard in all aspects of my life.

Please share up to 5 things people don’t know about you.

1. I always get judged as being “rough” because of the way I look, but I’m actually just a big teddy bear.

2. Growing up, I was a competitive international soccer player.

3. My older brother passed away in a car accident when I was 14.

4. I love to dance, and I’m really good at it.

5. I’m absolutely TERRIFIED of clowns.

Please name few Alfa people you know.

1. My girlfriend, Maxine.

2. My parents, Carola and Willy.

3. My brothers, Thorsten and Alexander.

What would be the ultimate tips you could share with everyone about life and health. It will be on how to stay motivated to do what makes you happy, and to never depend on anybody for your own happiness. Motivation comes from within, so always do what you love, and do it with passion. Hard work always pays off. Surround yourself with like-minded people because they are a reflection of who you are, and who you are becoming. Set small and big goals. Dream big, because your dreams can become your biggest goals.
