I AM ALFA because I am continuously improving my confidence, self-love, and mental wellness. I have overcome “rock bottom” moments and have grown stronger and happier than ever before.

I was born and raised in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. I am moving to Vancouver to finish my degree in 2020.

I am currently not certified as a trainer, but I am working privately for a small clientele as a fitness, life-coach.

I AM ALFA because I am continuously improving my confidence, self-love, and mental wellness. I take the time to listen to and help others with what knowledge/experience I have. I have overcome “rock bottom” moments and have grown stronger and happier than ever before, and believe I can connect with many others through this.

What are the most rewarding things that Fitness has brought you?

- Self-sufficiency in caring for bodily and mental health

- Goal setting and accountability towards working to achieve goals

- Friendships with people from every background and area of life.

When was the most alfa moment in your life? I took a negative situation (rock climbing related shoulder injury) and turned it into a positive, life changing opportunity by coaching myself through my first natural bikini competition prep.

Gracing the stage was the most incredible moment, knowing not only did I achieve this goal I set for myself, but I surpassed it by placing 2nd in both of my categories, allowing me to compete in the Natural Pro Qualifier in 2020.

What’s next for you? I am currently in a season of school and family focus, although a fit lifestyle remains present almost daily. I am working with Amer Kamra of Hammer Fitness for my 2020 competition prep.

Please share up to 5 things people don’t know about you.

I prefer strength focused training over hypertrophy, the adrenaline rush of lifting heavy drives me.

Love black coffee (even before competing and I became aware of “excess sugar, sweetener” because my father drank it and I wanted to emulate him

I prefer to spend my free time outdoors: hiking, hunting and fishing are all activities I’ve spent quality time doing

Before I went through with it, posing on stage in a bikini was one of my “Top Fears”!

Please name few Alfa people you know.

Nick Fog (father) My number 1 fitness inspiration. Tried the gym for the first time with him and seeing him continuously maintain an active lifestyle with mountain biking and training inspires me daily

Nicole Fog (Cousin) who’s played varsity women’s soccer for 5 years, 3X represented her university in Nationals, all around badass.

Aman Wadhwa (significant other) Four years of encouraging me to eat lots, lift heavy and push myself to improve in every aspect of life every day!

Amer Kamra: (Coach) focused on strengthening the mind along with the body, blunt love and no B.S.

Dave McCammon (fitness family) Owner of Fuel Nanaimo/Optimize Nutrition: knowledgeable about health/nutrition, caring and supportive through all stages of my fitness journey, awesome example of someone who generously gives to fitness community.

What would be the ultimate tips you could share with everyone about life and health?

Learn to love yourself as you are, but never let that be a reason to settle in your current state.

Realize there is no “best way” to become fit, healthy. Explore what activities you enjoy doing and integrate fitness, health in a unique way that enhances you.

If you don’t enjoy the process, the result will never feel truly rewarding.

Do more for others without expecting anything in return.

Is there any tips you’d like to share with our readers?

Absolutely. How to build self-confidence is one area of my life that I had to learn. I would say the first thing is to be able to visualize and then make notes of the qualities you desire to achieve person you want to become.

Another would be to hold yourself accountable to these qualities by reflecting, journaling, vlogging, or anything that works for you!

Do research and continuously learn about what you enjoy doing (career, training, education, hobbies, etc.) This way you will never become stagnant.

Meet new people frequently and make sure to be present in rooms in which you can learn from those surrounding you

Do daily activities that that you fin fulfilling.
